Why was I born?

In this compilation Papaji addresses the notion of birth and death and how freedom is available here and now, in an instant of time, by simply keeping quiet.
This DVD contains extracts of the interview by David Godman ‘Summa Iru’ with Papaji describing the differences between no-mind, dead mind and still mind.
The compilation includes 2 very devotional encounters and a devotee asking Papaji about the difference between roaring and quiet silence, with the whole room bursting out in laughter.

Nothing Ever Happened

A moving compilation in honour of Papaji’s centenary anniversary, which includes rare and unseen behind-the-scenes footage from Satsang Bhavan and from Papaji’s house. This DVD contains extracts of Papaji in his house, reading and commenting on the Yoga Vasishta.
The DVD starts and ends with 2 devotional songs, as video montages of Papaji in various situations.

Who am I?

This compilation was derived from a series of Satsangs in which participants asked Papaji to speak about the experience of “I.” He was repeatedly asked, “Who am I, if I am not who I think I am?” Papaji directs one to the “experience of the heart” in which “I” is known directly, beyond all concepts of past and future. Papaji says that only the heart knows here and now, the only place where “I” is realized. He goes on to say that, in reality, there is only here and now and points to the means whereby it is realized.

Jump into Eternal Peace

On the nature of Self-enquiry.
This DVD includes a beautiful awakening by a man who asks whether the Truth is inside or outside. Papaji tells him, “Which is the wall that keeps you outside and the Truth inside? Don’t touch the ‘I’ and then who wants to see the Truth?” The devotee acknowledges that there is nothing to do and laughs out loud.

Return to Silence

The theme that runs throughout this compilation (extracts from several Satsangs) is “silence.” Papaji states and demonstrates that silence is one’s real and permanent nature. He goes on to say that silence is the ground and substance of everything in existence. He also answers the question, “Can one be silent while being active in the world? “
Papaji speaks of the way by which Sri Ramana Maharshi demonstrated silence and what he taught about how to realize it. As importantly, he speaks of the means by which we distract ourselves from the experience and realization of silence.
He explains the meaning of freedom, or enlightenment, and the simplicity of awakening. During this discussion he also speaks about, and defines, Satsang, mind, and atman, and answers the question about the role of the guru. He convincingly assures his devotees that waking up is possible in this lifetime.
The topic of how our recognition, or lack thereof, affects all beings is beautifully explained. We actually see an example of this when one devotee, while speaking to Papaji, suddenly recognizes silence as the reality of his being and the viewer is drawn into the profound depths of being. In a spontaneous outpouring, this devotee speaks about “the arrow of Papaji’s love which strikes the heart” and which brings one to his knees in gratitude.
Though the content of this compilation is of a profound nature, it is also light hearted and filled with joy. It ends with a song of gratitude beautifully sung.
This is one DVD that you will want to watch over and over.

Give me Enlightenment Please!

In this all time’s favourite and inspiring video Papaji stresses the fact that one must not only give up the search for enlightenment but, more importantly, the idea that there is one who can engage in a search. He says that the “I” is the only hindrance to the realization of the truth of who one is. The seeker is the problem. He then explains how to let go of the concept of “I” and, in fact, all concepts. He says, “God is” remains as the only truth-not known but experienced. Papaji also speaks about the blessing of finding a true teacher, a guru, and how one should come to the guru. Everyone interacting with Papaji in this video ends up sitting up on the cough with him, with the whole room bursting up in laughter.

Maya

Freedom from the Mind

“Where is the mind that needs to be renounced?”
By renouncing desire one realizes that there is no mind and no ego. There is only emptiness requiring neither union nor separation.
In this DVD Papaji explains that to be free is for the warriors. As old habits have a tendency to come back, one has to keep vigilant and abide in the silence of the Self.

Beyond Desire

All pleasure ends in pain. The only way to avoid suffering is to reveal knowledge of the Self. To be free one has to renounce even the desire for freedom itself. Papaji gives the analogy of the thorn used to remove the other thorn, “You need thorn of happiness to remove pain, but then you renounce happiness also.”

Who is Giggling?

A laugh a day keeps the mind away! Papaji on the subject of laughter.
This DVD will bring tears to the eyes from the many funny encounters it contains, one of which is a young man who tells Papaji that he is stuck between the mud and the ocean. Papaji declares him finished and writes the date and time of his death on a piece of paper. The young man gets the joke and the hall burst out in laughter along with him.

The Divine Wedding

A beautiful compilation on the subject of devotion and surrender to the Guru.
“Let the boat go in the world pool, someone will look after you. Everything is done by the Lord seated in your heart.”
Papaji talks about guru’s protection and describes how he himself goes along with his devotees for some time to be washed away by the current of samsara, but ultimately brings them out on the shore.
This is a very moving video, with few, very devotional interactions.

Dancing in Emptiness

This compilation starts with a discourse on Self-enquiry as a means to strike at the root of the mind once and for all.
Papaji emphasises the importance to listen attentively to the instruction of the guru and not to let the mind grasp understanding.
The compilation includes an extract from an interview by Finnish television, in which Papaji reveals that there is no end to understanding and that even Papaji, himself, is still progressing in this final stage of evolution.
